On many of our equipment pages you’ll find a Research* section with the manufacturer’s description and specs, top selling points, how the model compares with its competitors, and what owners are saying about it. This page explains where that information comes from and how to use it.
How it’s put together
We use an artificial intelligence (AI) research assistant to gather publicly available information about each make and model. It searches the web, starting with the manufacturer’s own website and brochures and then looking at spec sheets, dealer and press reviews, and owner forums. It then writes a summary in plain language. The pages it relied on are listed under “Sources” at the end of each Research section so you can read the originals.
A member of our team reads each summary and makes edits before it goes on the website. The goal is simple: to save you time by bringing the most useful information about a model together in one place.
Please treat it as a helpful starting point
AI tools are useful, but they aren’t perfect, and neither are we. Even with our review, the Research section may contain mistakes or information that is out of date. For example:
- Manufacturers change specifications, options and features between model years and regions, and a source may describe a different version or configuration than the unit we have.
- Comparisons with other brands are based on published figures that may change, and they’re summarized from our perspective as a dealer.
- Owner and reviewer comments reflect individual experiences and highlight what people liked. They aren’t a guarantee of how any one machine will perform for you.
- Sources on the web can themselves be incomplete or wrong, and the AI can occasionally misread or misstate what they say.
What to rely on
The Research section is general product information about a model. It is not a description of a specific unit, and it is not part of any offer, quote or sales agreement. Price, condition, hours, included equipment, availability and warranty for a particular unit are shown elsewhere on its listing and are always confirmed by our staff before you buy. If anything in the Research section is important to your decision, please confirm it with us or with the manufacturer. If something differs, the manufacturer’s current published specifications and the terms of your written sales agreement take priority.
South Side Sales & Service makes no warranty, express or implied, about the accuracy or completeness of AI-assisted research content, and isn’t responsible for decisions made on the basis of it. Brand and model names belong to their respective owners. Mentioning a competing product doesn’t mean that manufacturer endorses us or our comparison.
